Gerald “Jerry” Butcher April 09, 1935 – March 04, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Jerald “Jerry” Butcher passed away on Monday March 4, 2019 in Green River, Wyoming. He had been resident of Green River since 1940 and was a former resident of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Butcher died following a brief illness.

He was born on April 9, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Melvin Butcher and Lovina Schofield Butcher. Mr. Butcher attended school in Green River, Wyoming. He married Patricia Orme in Rock Springs, Wyoming on March 18, 1956.

Mr. Butcher was a United States Army Veteran. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years and he retired as a clerk on March 31, 1997. His interests included playing cards, and traveling to Wendover with his family.

He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Butcher of Green River, Wyoming, one daughter Laurie Macioszek and husband Ron of Green River, Wyoming, one brother, Dennis Butcher and wife Lola of Leed, Utah, four sisters, Susie Whitehead of Murray, Utah, Patty Davis and husband Walt of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sherrie Zenger of Clearfield, Utah and Bonnie Bingham of Riverton, Wyoming, two grandsons, Trent Gregory and Jerred Macioszek, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Leisa Butcher and five brothers and three sisters.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Union Congregational Church, 350 Mansface Street, Green River, Wyoming. Inurnment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
