Gerald’s Obituary PERCY – Gerald L. Thies, 75, of Percy passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019, at the St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri. Gerald was born on March 9, 1943, in Willisville, the son of Melvin and Irene (Hoops) Thies. He married Ruth Ann Kranawetter on September 5, 1964, in Neunert, and they shared 54 years of marriage.

Gerald was retired from REA in Steeleville and was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Gerald was an avid bowler and fisherman. Gerald is survived by his wife; Ruth Ann Thies, of Percy, children; Brian (Allisen) Thies, of Cutler, Carla Jarrett, of Ava, Kevin (Michelle) Thies, of Ava, Jason (Kristi) Thies, of Rockwood, grandchildren; Rachel, Katelyn, Chelsea, Austin, Douglas, Aimee, Zach, Paige, Abbey, Logan, and Olivia.

He is also survived by his brothers; Allen (Carolyn) Thies, of Willisville, Melvin Thies, of Willisville, Terry Thies, of Willisville, sisters; Bonnie Faverty, of Carbondale, Diann (Jerry) Moore, of Willisville, Judy McFadden, of Steeleville, Mary Ann (Rick) Bowerman, of Campbell Hill, Connie (Bruce) Shockley, of Lenzburg, Illinois. Mr. Thies was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers; Lonnie, Kenny, and Randy. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill with Minister Deb Rathert and Rev.

Kelly C. Bedard officiating, burial will follow in the Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the Wilson’s Funeral Home in Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Tuesday from 7:30 AM until 9 and then from 10 to 11 AM at the church. Memorials may be made to the Family.
