Gilbert’s Obituary Gilbert Garrett Parker, 94, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mr. Parker was born December 18, 1924 in Richmond County, a son of the late William and Ruth Lee Blue Parker. He had served his country in the US Navy and had retired from Richmond Yarns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Elizabeth Stokes Parker. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Beth Parker of Rockingham; grandson, Matthew Parker and wife Bailey and a sister, Carolyn Schwitz. Graveside services will be at 11 am Monday at Richmond County Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The family will see friends following the service.
