Gilbert Lizardi Longtime Northvale Resident Beloved Brother and Uncle, 75 Mr. Gilbert Lizardi, 75, of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Englewood Medical Center. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Monday, May 14 at 8:45 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark at 10:00 a.m. The entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 12 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Mr. Lizardi was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico and was a longtime resident of Northvale.

He was an accountant for Pan American Airlines, Closter, for over 30 years, and was later an accountant for Liz Claiborne, North Bergen before retiring. Mr. Lizardi was a Eucharistic Minister at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark, a member of the Newark Borinquen Lions Club and past District Governor, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bergenfield 4th Degree. He is survived by his beloved brothers Ivan Lizardi and his wife Bruni, Francisco “Paco” Lizardi and his wife Ines Barros; and his beloved family member Fernando Navarro.

He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Lizardi is predeceased by his brother Cano Armando Lizardi and his sister Alicia Lizardi.
