Giles T. Akins, 51, of Rushville, IL died at Friday December 28, 2018 at his home in Rushville. He was born on July 6, 1967 in Macomb, IL to Junior Lee and Rose Marie Cook Akins. Giles enjoyed collecting, trading and working on Cub Cadet lawn mowers, doing genealogy, gardening and coin collecting and civil war history.

He is survived by his mother, Rose Akins of Macomb, IL, his long time companion, Linda Hurt and her daughter Katrina Akins of Rushville, IL, 2 sisters, Tina (Jerry) Sipes of Meredosia, IL, Kathleen (Michael) Pershing of Canton, IL and his best friend, Wayne Fawcett of Industry, IL. He was preceded in death by his father and 2 sisters, Sharon and Patricia Akins in infancy. Cremation will be accorded.

There will be no services. Private burial will be held at a later date in Woodlawn cemetery in Augusta. The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.
