Obituary for Gladys Dart (Wudell) Gladys Evelyn Dart, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Froedtert South-Kenosha Medical Center Campus. Gladys was born on January 10, 1929, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Richard and Aurelia (nee Maletsky) Wudell. She graduated from Kenosha High School, where she was a member of the A Cappella Choir.

On June 4, 1949, Gladys married John Richard “Dick” Dart in Waukegan, Illinois. They were married nearly sixty years and always resided in Kenosha. Dick preceded her in death in 2009.

Gladys worked at Snap-On Tools as a secretary for 7 years. After taking off some time to be a full-time mother, Gladys was a faculty secretary at Carthage College for various departments including English, history, psychology, and business. She retired in 1985 after being employed 20 years.

Gladys was a very active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She served in many volunteer and leadership positions. Gladys was a chairperson and member of the Music Committee, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Junior Choir Director, President and member of the Women’s Missionary Society, pianist and vocal soloist, and member of the church choir and ladies singing ensemble.

Gladys was a member of the Schubert Club of Kenosha for 60 years. She served as President for over 30 years, and even at the end of her life still as President Emeritus. Gladys was Festival Chairperson and counselor of the Sub-Junior Schubert Club and Junior Schubert Club for many years.

Her passion was to instill a love of music in today’s youth and give them numerous opportunities to perform. The greatest enjoyment to Gladys in life was her family. With her husband, Dick, she loved to travel all over the United States and Canada with their Airstream trailer making memories with each other and with children and grandchildren.

Walt Disney World was a favorite family destination through the years. Gladys enjoyed listening to and watching her children and grandchildren participate in music activities. She was always in attendance at piano recitals, band and orchestra concerts, and parades, showing support and love for her family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Wudell Metzger, and one brother, Victor Wudell. Left to cherish her fond memory include one brother, Allwin Wudell of Grand Junction, Colorado; one daughter, Sandra (Scott) Lindgren of Kenosha, and one son, Richard (Gail) Dart, of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Craig (Jill) Lindgren, Tim (Rachael) Lindgren, Rydean (Kayla) Dart, Ian (Alisa) Dart, and Sierra Dart; and three great grandchildren, Breckin Van Pelt, Parker Lindgren, and one great granddaughter on the way. The wishes of Gladys were to make all services private.
