Gloria A. Cook age 84 of Ashland, passed away Thursday December 20, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Ashland on November 19, 1934 the daughter of Marion and Lois (Koppler) Hartsel she had been an Ashland resident all of her life. She had been employed as a seamstress at Cresco, National Seating and G&T Industries.

On December 31, 1953, Gloria was married to Floyd Dudte who preceded her in death in 1968. On June 13, 1969 she was remarried to William Cook who preceded her in death in 1997. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1067 and a member of Eagles Aerie 2178 and a former member of the Clear Creek Church of Christ.

Surviving is one son and daughter in law, Kenneth (Chris) Dudte of Lexington Ohio, two step sons and daughters in law, Mark (Teresa) Cook of Ashland and Donald (Patricia) Cook of Seville Ohio. One step daughter also survives, Donna Olie of Mansfield. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

One brother and friend, Dean Hartsel and Linda of Ashland and one sister in law, Doris Ann Hartsel also survive. Six half-sisters and their spouses also survive, Pat (Arden) Fitch of Savannah, Pam (Ronald) Koppler of Savannah, Paula (Clair) Watts of Savannah, Portia Hamilton of Ashland, Peg (Howard) Keller of Savannah and Phyllis (John) Larisey of Savannah. One step sister Carol Engel of Mansfield also survives.

In addition to her husbands she is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Marion Hartsel Jr., Donald Hartsel and Roger Hartsel; her step mother, Thelma Hartsel; step daughter Georgia Myers and step son Bill Cook. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Oswalt officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service at the Heyl Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Ashland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Gloria’s name to the following organization The Central Ohio Diabetes Association and can be left at the funeral home.
