Gloria Dean Meyers (Gibbs), 87, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on Monday February 25, 2019. Graveside services are pending for this spring. Inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gloria was born in Henderson, KY, on June 29, 1931, the daughter of Dollie Mae Sowards and Robert Gibbs. She married Allie “Jay” Meyers on September 1, 1967. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2015.

Mrs. Meyers had been employed for several years at Servus Rubber, Rock Island. She was later a homemaker. Those left to treasure her memory include her son, Mike Chambers; daughter, Susie Kelley-Schilling; grandchildren, Michelle Chambers, Selena Dasso, Todd Danner and Michael Kelley; great grandchildren, Shelbee and Baylee Bradley, Xavier, Vittoria and Isaac Potenzo; special friends, Glenda Blowers and Amber Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allie Meyers; parents, Dollie Mae Sowards and Robert Gibbs; son, Pat Chambers and infant sister, Barbara Jean Gibbs.
