Obituary of Gloria Dybas Gloria TheresaDybas 1931 – 2018 Utica, New York Gloria Theresa Dybas, 86 a lifelong resident of Utica passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 18, 2018. Born in Utica, NY on May 11, 1931 the daughter of John and Mary CherubinDybas, Gloria Dybas graduated from Holy Trinity School and Utica Free Academy. Miss Dybas received her undergraduate Degree and Master’s Degree in Education from Syracuse University.

Gloria started her teaching career at Holland Patten HS. She was a teacher at her Alma Mater Utica Free Academy for the remainder of her career. Involved in many organizations she was a member of the Polish Community Club, Kopernik Memorial Association, National Education Association, Onieda County History Center, Pope John Paul II Cultural Foundation and a lifetime parishioner of Holy Trinity Church.

Her survivors include her six nephews and their spouses: John and Beata Patalita of Fayetteville, NY; David and Molly Patalita of Alexandria, VA; John Dybas III and Bev Mohr of Chicago, IL;Michael and Leslie Dybas of Charlotte, MI; Mark and DilrushkiDybas of Gurney, IL; Geoffrey and LisaDybas of Chicago, IL. Great nieces: Elizabeth Patalita, Mary Patalita, Aleksandra Patalita, Emilia Patalita, Rebecca Dybas, and KatyDybas. Great Nephews: Evan Dybas and Matthew Patalita.

Gloria is also survived by her Sister in Law, Mary Jane LaheyDybas of Libertyville, IL. Gloria was predeceased by her brother John A. Dybas, Jr.,and her sister Cecilia Dybas Patalita and her husband Louis L. Patalita. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10a.m. at Holy Trinity Church.

Those who wish may call on Friday from4:30 – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 1156 Lincoln Ave. Utica. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
