Obituary for Golda Gray (Simmons) Goldie Gray, age 91 of Winnsboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 in Winnsboro. She was born on October 4th, 1926 in Sampsel, Missouri to John William Simmons and Mayme Katherine (Thompson) Simmons. She married Gomer Stephen Gray on May 12, 1943.
She lived in Winnsboro since February of 2009 coming from Los Alamos, New Mexico where she was a member at White Rock Baptist Church. She was an office manager for TG&Y in Los Alamos from 1963 to 1993, before that, she worked for BOSS Manufacturing Company (glove factory) in Chillicothe, Missouri from 1962 to 1963. A lady who loved to fish, she will also be remembered for how much she enjoyed Bowling, as well as her ability as a seamstress, gardener, and talent with crochet.
She was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. She was preceded in death by her, husband, Gomer S. Gray on November 9, 1962; her parents; granddaughter, Tammy Lynn (Gray) Register; brothers and sisters, Willie, Mabel, Hubert, Betty Lou, Judy, Virgil, and Robert. Surviving family includes, son and daughter-in-law, Gomer Junior Gray and Edie Ann of Winnsboro; siblings, Daisy Shackleford of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Darlene Casella of Swedesboro, New Jersey, (Mickey) Eric M. Simmons; grandchildren, Selene and husband Brent Musslewhite, James and wife Nicole Gray; great grandchildren, Alex Register, Marc Register, Kylee Musslewhite, Aspen Gray and Justin Gray A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Highway 65 & Sioux Dr., Chillicothe, Missouri.
