Gorden Harry Patten, 85 of Adair Village, Oregon passed away September 20, 2018. He was born June 24, 1933, in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Harry and Ruth Mainwaring Patten. Gorden graduated from Blue Mountain Elementary School and from Cottage Grove High School in 1951.

Three years after high school Gorden became a Christian under the influence of the Cottage Grove Church of Christ. Shortly after he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was sent to Korea just at the close of the war. After leaving the Army he enrolled in San Jose Bible College where he met and married Sharon Collver of Eugene.

They graduated together in 1960 and then began their family, preparing to return to Korea as Missionaries. In Korea they brought up their four daughters and were involved in teaching, preaching, literature publication and prison evangelism. After spending 30 years in Korea, Gorden continued to make mission trips to Korea and China.

In 1995, Gorden began his 13 ministry in The Falls City Christian Church in Polk County, Oregon. Gorden and Sharon have spent their retirement years living in Adair Village, OR. Gorden was preceded in death by his parents, his eldest daughter Becky, two brothers, James and Paul Patten.

A funeral will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday September 26, 2018 at the Church of Christ, 6th and Gibbs, Cottage Grove, OR followed by burial at Brumbaugh Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, 123 S. 7th St., Cottage Grove, OR 97424.
