OBITUARY Grace Esther Nichols July 26, 1944 – November 6, 2018 Grace Esther Nichols, 74, of Hebron passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Bessie Messick. Grace loved children and babysat for many of the kids in Hebron.

She worked at Cherokee Lanes bowling alley and for 13 years worked in the deli at Food Lion before retiring. Along with her sister Barbara and son Josh, Grace enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slots and in the past she enjoyed going to play BINGO. She is survived by her son, Joshua G. Nichols; sister, Barbara Murray; several nieces and nephews; and two special neighbors, Lynette Kenney and Cindy Daugherty.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Raymond “Buddy” Edward Nichols in September; five brothers, Robert, Richard, Danny, Melvin, Jr., and Lester Messick; and sister, Ruby Ford. A Celebration of Grace’s Life will be held Wednesday at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
