Obituary of Joanne Lynch Joanne Mary Lynch, 70, of Pocomoke City, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 18, 1948 in Salisbury, MD, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Doris Townsend Marvel. She was a 1967 graduate of Pocomoke High School and an active member of Lynnhaven Baptist Church.

She was known as “Nanny” to generations of children, whom she loved and cared for. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and hummingbirds. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother who dedicated her life to her church and her family.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harvey L. Lynch, Jr.; one son, Harvey E “Eddie” Lynch both of Pocomoke City,; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Smullen (Clint) of Sunrise, FL; three grandsons, Clint, Tanner and Quinn Smullen; one brother, James Joseph Marvel, Sr of Exmore; one brother in law, Robert W. Lynch of Salisbury; one sister in law, Cheryl Fisher (Robbie) of Pocomoke City; her beloved English Bulldog, Winston, and many extended family members including nieces and nephews and church and community members. In addition to her parents Joanne was preceded in death by a brother Robert L. Marvel. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at Lynnhaven Baptist Church in Pocomoke City where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service.

Rev. Kerry Hinton will officiate. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke City, MD.

If desired, contributions may be made to Lynnhaven Baptist Church, 1200 Lynnhaven Drive, Pocomoke, MD in support of their children’s ministry program.
