Obituary of Laban Evans Laban “Buddy” A. Evans, 77, of Salisbury, died Friday, December 14, 2018 peacefully at his home. Born August 3, 1941 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Laban and Lillian Evans. Buddy was employed as a forklift operator and operations manager for 39 years at Shaw Warehouse until his retirement in 2007.

He was sports enthusiast. If he was not playing a sport himself, he could often been seen on the sidelines cheering and coaching both his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed volleyball, softball, and fishing with his family.

He was best known for his sense of humor and will be remembered as a true jokester. Buddy is a member of the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame and a former member of the Old Timer’s League in Salisbury. Buddy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen J. Evans, of Salisbury; two daughters, Sheila Pullen and her husband Kelly of Salisbury and Shannon Jensen and her husband John of Annapolis; five granddaughters: Katie Smith and her husband Clyde of Tampa, FL, Hillary Collins and her husband John of Fruitland, Tayler Jensen of Annapolis, Allison Pullen of Salisbury, and Tara Pullen of Annapolis; a grandson, Kelly Alex Pullen of Salisbury; two great-granddaughters, Avery Smith of Tampa, FL and Madeline Smith of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Jane Goslee and her husband Dave of Pittsville and Jessie Lokey and her husband Dean of Long Neck; a brother, Richard Evans and his wife Dale of Salisbury; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by two sisters, Reeda Disharoon and Jeanette Foskey and a brother, Alfred Evans. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Buddy’s honor to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
