Obituary of Marsha Schmutz Marsha Kay Schmutz, 68, of Nixa, MO, died on Saturday, December 15, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00pm on December 28, 2018, at the Venues Church in Springfield, MO. Born on August 13, 1950, in Hutchinson, KS, Marsha was the daughter of the late Boyd and Veora Abernathy.

She was a compassionate, generous woman and was most known for her calling to help others. She was employed as a nurse for over 30 years, most recently as a traveling nurse in Salisbury, MD. Marsha was a member of Venues Church, where she volunteered her time to help homeless veterans.

She had a creative spirit, which shown through in passion for crafting. Marsha had an enormous heart and will be most remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and special friend. She is survived by her husband Larry Schmutz, two sons, Shad Schmutz and his wife Sarah Fender and Nathan Schmutz and his wife Carrie; four grandsons, Brandon Frye, Garrett Schmutz, Connor Schmutz, and Evan Schmutz; two sisters, Sharon Price and her husband Ralph and Judy Kinast; a brother, David Abernathy and his wife Marti; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marsha is preceded in death by a brother, Donald and a sister, Joyce. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project . Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
