Mrs. Grace Adelaide “Gracie” Martin, daughter of the late Gilbert and Malinda Burgess Penn was born July 29, 1922 in Henry County, Virginia. She attended the public schools in Henry County. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Meadow Christian Church where she was a dedicated member until she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1954.

She joined Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1960. At Sixth Mt.

Zion Baptist, she served faithfully as a member of the Gospel Chorus, Mass Choir, Nurses Unite and the Stewardship Ministry. She later transferred her membership to Antioch Christian Church in Martinsville, Virginia. She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Lee Martin on October 15, 1949.

Robert Lee Martin preceded her in death on February 17, 1983. She quietly departed this life Thursday, January 17, 2019, in Pittsburgh. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James “Jamie” Penn.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends. She worked for the Thomas and Audrey Hillman-Hilliard family for 26 years. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, Virginia, with Rev.

Junior W. Wimbush officiating. Family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, 555 Spencer Preston Road, Martinsville.
