Dorothy George Stanley, 94, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at SOVAH Health of Danville, Virginia. Mrs. Stanley was born in Francisco, North Carolina to the late Curtis & Delia Clifton George. She was also pre-deceased by her husband, Ronald Melvin Stanley; her son, Ronald Wayne Stanley; six brothers and five sisters.

She loved her family dearly, yard work, was a people person, and liked feathery things. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Lackey (Tommy); two sons, Dr. James Lee Stanley (Melissa) of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Donnie Ray Stanley of Martinsville, Virginia; four grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Linda Wilson. All services will be private.
