Obituary for H. James Morrell H. James Morrell, age 71, of Bluff City, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 surrounded by his family at his residence. James was born in Bluff City, Tennessee to the late Arthur Herbert and Elvie Lee Miller Morrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Marie Klemmens.
James was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was of the Christian faith. He was faithful, honest, humorous and compassionate. James enjoyed refurbishing old cars and welding.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 22 years, Janet Morrell, of the home; four daughters, Stacey Kathleen Morrell, of GA, Christi Darlene Flannigan and husband Jim, of FL, Sabrina Diane Richards and husband Darrin, of Bluff City and Danielle Lynn Deskins and husband Drew, of Bluff City; eight grandchildren, Leslie McNamara and husband Blake, Christopher Klemmens, Matthew Klemmens and Kayla Klemmens, all of GA, Samantha Spence, of FL, Cameron Carroll, Dylan Burnett and Ava Deskins, all of Bluff City; one great granddaughter, Elaina McNamara, of GA; one sister, Edna Hurd, of Bristol; and one brother, Dennis Morrell, of Bluff City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to honor the life of H. James Morrell will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City with Mr. Michael Wilson, minister, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Eastern Heights Cemetery, 431 Old Jonesboro Road. Active pallbearers will be Floyd H. Gragg, Rexwell Allan Gragg, Ralph Gragg, Jacob Stokes, Dustin Burnette and Mike Strouth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald St. John. The family would like to extend a special thanks to family and friends for their love and support. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
