Hal Howard Doolin, 61, of 117 Douglas Drive Dry Fork, Va. , died unexpectedly on September 30, 2018, at Sovah Healthcare Danville after suffering a massive heart attack. Hal was born August 1, 1957, in Danville, Va.

to the late Roy William Doolin and Olinda Ann Ferrell Doolin. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jennifer Petty Doolin, of the home. Hal attended Danville Christian School.

He was employed at Times Fiber Communications, where he had been employed for over 35 years. Hal… Read More » was a kind and giving man who only wanted to make sure everyone else was happy. He never met a stranger and developed many special friendships over the years that he cherished.

He loved fishing and spent many years teaching his children how to catch the big ones. He enjoyed lying by the pool, loved his lawnmower, and always looked forward to vacationing at Myrtle Beach, S.C. He also enjoyed going to the local car shows with his son, Nicholas.

More than anything, Hal loved his sons and stepdaughters, who were the apple of his eye. Left to cherish the memories are his wife, Jennifer Doolin of the residence; four sons, Nicholas C. Doolin of the residence, Michael T. Doolin, Charles R. Doolin, and Carl S. Doolin; two stepdaughters, Caitlyn Meehan of Charleston, S.C., and Lauren Meehan of the residence. He also left behind our six beloved pups, one beautiful granddog pup, and his favorite cat, Nugg, who are also mourning his death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Rev. Stephen White officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, October 3, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel.
