Harold W. Opp, 94, formerly of South Williamsport, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Valley View Nursing Center. Born January 21, 1924 in Muncy, he was a son of Bruce A. and S. Florence (Vognetz) Opp. Surviving is his loving wife Orvene L. (Casey) Opp, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage with on Oct.

27. Harold was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired in 1985 from the Muncy Correctional Institution after 41 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #617 South Williamsport, AFSCME Retiree Chapter 13, Sub Chapter 8603.

Harold enjoyed mowing grass, plowing snow, and having coffee with friends at McDonald’s. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Charles H. “Chuck” (Jane) Opp of Hughesville, and a sister Margaret E. Fenstermaker of Muncy. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy M. Kratzer.

A memorial service to honor Harold’s life will be held at Sanders Mortuary at a later date. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Memorial donations may be made in Harold’s name to South Williamsport Fire Department, 573 Hastings St. South Williamsport, PA 17702.
