Ken Pappy Perks, 84, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Born Aug.

11, 1934, in West Pittston, he was a son of the late Stanley P. Perks and Mabel Marie (Glass) Kearney. Pappy was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War in the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the Veterans of the Vietnam War , Post PA 51, Young Marines and the 28th Infantry Division.

After his service in the military he was employed as a security officer for many years. Surviving are a sister, Janet Welsh, of North Carolina, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond Perks, Russell Perks, Francis Kearney and Jack Kearney, and two sisters, Dorthalea Sheppard and Sandra Saavedra.

A graveside service to honor the life of Pappy will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ken’s name to Veterans of Vietnam War, PO Box 23, Hughesville, PA 17737.
