Shirley D. Ulmer, 90, formerly of Anthony Township, Lycoming County, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Zion Grove, Columbia County. Born August 20, 1928 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Isra Ray and Emma Pearl Budmann Stroup. Shirley was a graduate of Muncy High School and Nyack Missionary College.

She owned and operated her own photography business. Shirley was a member of Anthony Baptist Church and was active in many church activities. Surviving are her children, Julie Knowlden (Kelly) of Zion Grove, and Daniel Ulmer (Susan) of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Keith Knowlden (Katlyn), Carrie Wiley (Thomas), Curtis Knowlden (Anna), Kathryn Spanos (Nate), Rebecca Walton (Jason), Nathan Ulmer, Erin Roberts (Kurt), Michelle Kapottos (Michael), John Marc Terre-Blanche, and Jesse Terre-Blanche (Meghan) and son-in-law Dean Madigan (Stacie).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl E. Ulmer and a daughter Joy Madigan. A funeral service to honor the life of Shirley will be held Monday, December 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Anthony Baptist Church, 4750 Quenshuckeny Road, Jersey Shore, PA. The family will receive friends from 9:00until the time of service at the church.

Burial will be in State Road Cemetery.
