Mary L. Sullenberger, 77, of Williamsport passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at home where she was surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William E. “Bill” Sullenberger on February 10, 2015. Born August 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Carrie A. (Wicks) Trembly.

Mary retired from the Williamsport Home after many years as a CNA providing care for the elderly and making a lot of friends along the way. She was baptized at Buchanan Baptist Church and recently attended Wing of Love. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and having the family over for poker night.

She loved to tell jokes and to make people laugh. She was a talented poet and kept a daily journal and diary. Most of all Mary’s life revolved around her abundant family.

She loved having everyone over for holidays, picnics, and spending time at home. Surviving are a sister, Ida M. Sanders, of South Williamsport; also her children, Amy L. Sullenberger, of Williamsport, David E. Sullenberger, of Orwigsburg, Cathy A. Sullenberger, of Williamsport, and Jamie M. Sullenberger, of Muncy; nine grandchildren,Tabitha Beamer (Javon), Ryan Petrella (Ashley Barnfield), Shawn Shipton Jr., Jason Britton Jr. (Kacee Weaver), Anissa Shipton (Charles Ferguson, Jr.), Miranda Witt (Ishmil), Daisy Edmonds, Cheyenne Waldman, and Jacoby Benway; and 20 great-grandchildren Marianna, Adrionna, Nathaniel, Gianna, Marshall, MacKenzie, Armani, Giuseppe, Leanna, Shawn III, Sophia, Jetta, Lorrayne, Aaliyah, Aartic, Corinne, Braxton, CaeliAnna, Uwais, and Lillian. In addition to husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, William E. Sullenberger Jr., a great-granddaughter Nevaeh Petrella, and two sisters, Anna B. Seaman and Florence V. Marshall.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mary will be held at 11 a.m. Friday January 4 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 3 at Sanders Mortuary.

The family will welcome any floral tributes.
