Obituary for Harriett Jane Belt (Anderson) Harriett Jane Belt, 95, of Hanover, PA passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford, PA. Born October 12, 1923 in Fort Totten, NY, she was the daughter of the late Major William Charles Anderson and Mabel Putnam Anderson. She was the wife of the late Amos Wilson Belt, her husband of 59 years, who died in 2003.

She was a graduate of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, MD. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Belt had been a realtor in the Hanover area. She had also worked at the former Lana Lobell Company and Sears.

She was a member of St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church in Glenville, PA . She and her late husband were members of Hanover Lodge #763, B. P. O. Elks. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Susan McClintock of New Oxford and Deborah J. Hershey of Hanover; son, J. Robert Belt of Glenville; foster son, James Bono of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Mary Jo Bechtel of Westminster, MD; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by a foster son, Lester Bono. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 19, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD, with her pastor, the Rev.

Paula Murray officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near Reisterstown. Memorial contributions may be sent to either the VNA of Hanover/Spring Grove, 440 North Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or the Good Samaritan Fund of the Brethren Home Community, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350.
