Mr. Harry Leon Yeaman, 82, husband of Virginia Moore Yeaman and a resident of Greenbush, VA, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. Born November 28, 1935 in Danville, VA, he was the only child of the late Boss Isaac Yeaman and Estelle Shelton Yeaman. Harry worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation for 35 years, retiring in 1990 as the District Maintenance Engineer for the Lynchburg District.

He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Onancock Elks Lodge No. 1766, B.P.O.E. , and the Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No.

4, A.F. & A.M., where he recently received his fifty year pin. In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by three children, Harry L. Yeaman, Jr. and wife Karen of Hampton, VA, Dottie Yeaman Mears and husband Bobby of Melfa, VA, and Robin Bagwell Young of Halifax County, VA; and four stepchildren, Merritt Reagan and wife Diane of Lynchburg, VA, William Stanford Adams, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, Elizabeth Hope Adams and husband Greg, and Sallie Wade Adams-Kaiser and husband Tom, all of Halifax County; eight grandchildren, Tara Burgess Dalton, Stuart Fulcher, Benjamin Keith Burgess, Troy Eugene Burgess, Harry L. Yeaman III, Clinton Thomas Yeaman, Robbie Mears, and Ann Livingston Young; five step grandchildren, William Stanford Adams III, Nicholas and Griffith Kaiser, Victoria Hicks, and Adam Reagan; and several great-great grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Leslie Yeaman Fulcher.

A memorial service will be held at the Onley United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with The Reverend Charles W. Parks III officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harry’s memory to Riverside Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 430, Onancock, VA 23417. Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.
