Harry Robert Potts (Bobby) Harry Robert Potts (aka Bobby Potts) passed away peacefully, February 10, 2019 at his home in Neptune. He was 73. Bobby was born in the coal mining town of Four States, West Virginia but raised in Long Branch and Middletown.

He was number 7 of 12 siblings. Bobby graduated from Long Branch High School in 1964. During high school and after graduation he worked in several sweat shops in the area.

During the Vietnam War, Bobby served in the U. S. Army being stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged in 1968, he enrolled in Monmouth University (then known as Monmouth College) studying accounting graduating in 1973. Bobby started his career in the account department with RCA and through all of the mergers and company acquisitions he worked for General Electric, MCI, WorldCom and finally retired from Verizon Business in late December of 2007.

Bobby was a member of the American Legion Post 346 in Neptune. He had countless girlfriends in Monmouth Medical Center – Fusion Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center – Wound Care Center, the DaVita Wall Home Dialysis Training Center, Wall Township. Bobby was predeceased by his mother, Catherine Post; siblings Marie, Katherine, Rocky, Bernie, Calvin, Adrian, John, Darlene and Donald.

He is survived by his brothers Blaine Pott s of Texas and Richard Post of Washington State. He also leaves behind 37 nieces and nephews and 61 great nieces and nephews. Bobby also leaves behind his partner in crime of 24 years, Edward Holmes and his beloved dog Harry, Jr. The viewing will be held from 5 to 9 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune.
