Obituary for Harvey L. Clemons Harvey L. Clemons, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare with his family by his side. Harvey was born on August 10, 1936 in Prospect, the son of Loren and Mabel (Betsinger) Clemons. He was a graduate of Holland Patent High School.
Harvey served in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic from 1955 to 1959 and played on the Air Force softball travel team. He has been in a blessed union with Marilyn Loughlin for over 20 years. He was employed with Otis Elevator Company as a “Doctor of Vertical Transportation” prior to retiring.
Harvey was selected for the Prospect Hall of Fame as all-time best second baseman for the Prospect softball team. He was a three time club champion for Oriskany Hills and Glass Hill Golf Clubs. Building and flying radio controlled airplanes were his passion.
He competed nationally placing in the top five. Harvey achieved his life’s dream obtaining his IFR pilot’s license. He also enjoyed vintage cars.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Gail Clemons, New Hartford; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Dr. Andrew Noga, Westmoreland; grandchildren, Justin Noga, Brandon Noga, Matthew Clemons and Adam Clemons; Marilyn Loughlin, New Hartford and her family, Brian and Elizabeth Loughlin and Stephen Loughlin; brother, Reginald Clemons, Prospect; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Barry Jones, Holland Patent; many nieces, nephews and former wife, Carolyn Clemons. Harvey was predeceased by two sisters, Bernice and Marion and sister-in-law, Margaret Clemons. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday, June 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd.
, Utica. Funeral services will commence following visitation at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Harvey’s name may be made to the Rome Humane Society.
