Obituary for Helen Arlene (Strauch) Sanders (Barber) Print Helen Arlene Sanders- age 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Horizon Senior Living. Helen was born in Grant Township to parents Willis Avery and Lydia (Reynolds) Barber on September 8, 1928. Helen attended grade school at Grant Country School, High School at Farwell High School, and after graduation attended Mid-Michigan Community College, graduating with the first class of LPN’s.

She worked as nurse at Shurlow Nursing Home in Clare. She married Raymond Dudley Strauch who passed at age 34. Her marriage to Raymond produced five children.

After Raymond’s passing, she later married Russel Sanders. Helen loved to sew, garden, hunt for rocks, and watch and feed birds. She will be greatly missed by her children; Dudley Strauch and wife Jodi of Farwell, Linda Riffle and husband Skip of Beaverton, Nancy Klinge and husband Steve of Farwell, LuAnn Strauch of Manistee, Marcia Staley and husband Robert of Coleman, thirteen grandchildren, twenty;-nine great-grandchildren, brothers Ernie (Jocelyn) Barber of FLA, Elton Barber of Pontiac, Dewey Barber (Vicki) of Houghton Lake, Bruce Barber (Mary) of East Jordan, sister; June (Don) Wallace of Farwell, Verna Green of Clare, Wanda West (Bud) of Beaverton, Donna Clark (Nelson) of Coleman, Marcia Wagner (Curt) of AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is planned for Friday, February 8, 2019, at 11AM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Pastor Andrew Apps will officiate. Family and friends may visit on Thursday from 5 until 8PM.
