Services for Helen B. Medelman age 91 of Norfolk, NE, are planned for Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Reverend Scott Schilmoeller will officiate with burial to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 5, 2018, from 4-7 pm, at St. Mary’s Church, with the rosary to immediately follow at 7:00 pm.

Helen died on November 2, 2018, at Faith Regional. Helen was born June 2, 1927, in Pomeroy, IA to the late Victor and Carrie (Crotty) Kellogg. At the age of one year old, she moved with her parents and family to Norfolk, NE, where she lived the rest of her life.

She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1945. She was employed as a Dental Assistant for Dr. McVeney and worked a short time at the Fair Store. On June 10, 1948, she married Henry Medelman.

And to this union seven children were born. Helen enjoyed doing crafts, embroidering, baking and doing things for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was owner and manager of Elkhorn Construction Company.

Helen belonged to Sacred Heart, St. Mary’s Parish, the Alter Society, The Rosary Crusade, and was a past officer of the Catholic Daughters of America. Helen is survived by two sons and four daughters: Pat and Jane Medelman Paul Medelman and Patty Roeder Cathy Maly and Jerry Koch Ann and Bill Hoien Mary and Dr Jim Doyle Joan Medelman and Peggy Whitmore; seven grandchildren; five step grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister; Bill Kellogg, Don Kellogg (Marlene) and Jane Reuss.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Henry Medelman in 1965, one son Michael Medelman in 1974, one great-grandson Dayton Dominiack, son-in-law Kelly Maly, one step grandson Michael Claussen, as well as three brothers and two sisters and her parents. Memorials maybe directed to Sacred Heart Parish.
