Johnson – Helen Grace Conger Perkins, 98, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Manor in Morrisville, VT. Helen was born in Richford, VT, February 7, 1920, the youngest child of Jesse and Eva Conger. Helen graduated from Richford High School and Johnson Normal School.

Helen taught for 25 years in the Berkshire, Richford and Johnson schools. She was also an Auditor for the Johnson Town and Village for several years prior to her teaching in Johnson. Helen was a member of the Vermont Retired Teachers Association, Lamoille Retired Teachers, and also Franklin-Lamoille Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Association, an International Club for teachers. Helen was an active member of Johnson United Church and Women’s Society.

Helen is survived by her son, William and his wife, Eileen, of Fairfax, brother-in-law, Richard Perkins and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, brothers; Paul and Charles Conger, sister; Carolyn Levis and her husband, Robert, and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Stearns) Conger and Helaine Perkins. At Helen’s request there will be no visitation.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Church of Johnson, 100 Main Street, Johnson. The Reverend Charles Purinton will officiate. Interment will follow in Lamoille View Cemetery.
