Helen Green Love April 3, 1921 – June 8, 2018 Columbia-Helen Green Love, 97, widow of James Knox Love, Jr. died Friday June 8, 2018. Mrs. Love was born April 3, 1921 in Columbia, SC daughter of Fredrick Benjamin Green and Jimmie Gatewood Green. She graduated from Columbia High School and attended Limestone College.

For many years, Helen lived at the anti-bellum family home, Green Acres, in Irmo. Her desire for the preservation of Green Acres led her to donate the home to Lake Murray Tourism who had the house moved to Lake Murray to become their headquarters and visitor center. She moved to the Heritage at Lowman in 2013, and was an active member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughter Maryanne Love Schwab and her husband Dick of Georgetown, SC, her son James Knox Love III and his wife Janice of Chapin, SC and her daughter Pat Love Shealy of Charleston, SC. Grandchildren Stephen Schwab, M.D., Molly Greene and her husband John, Bryan Love, PhD, James Knox Love IV and his wife Becky, and Amy Kuenzel and her husband Will. Great grandchildren Alexandra, Daria, Leila and Matthew Schwab and their mother Suzanne Schwab, M.D.; Nathanial Love; Collette and Mary Love; Jenna and Elianna Kuenzel.

Her long life and contribution to her family and community at-large will be a of many comforting memories. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 13 at Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 6952 St. Andrews Rd.
