Helen M. Jester, age 74, of Kirby, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She was born on September 12, 1944 at Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of C. T. Burch and Mildred Allyne Plant Burch. On October 4, 1962, she married Charles Eugene Jester who preceded her in death on November 21, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Greg Lynn Jester; her great-grandchildren, Haygen Minchew and Jed Minchew; her daughter-in-law, Wanda Jester; and her son-in-law, Rick Minchew. Helen was a member of the Daisy Free Will Baptist Church. She was retired after 20 years of service from Beard-Poulan and cooking on weekends at the Fish Nest in Nashville.

She was a great cook and enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, but most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Rusty (Sherry) Jester of Daisy and Randy (Paula) Jester of Norman; two daughters, Tawnya (Tony) Crow of Kirby and Tammy Sykes of Hot Springs; fourteen grandchildren, Devin (Shayla) Jester, Brittany (Patrick) Jackson, Samantha (Cody) Thrash, Josh Grooms, Derek Jester, Stephen Sterling, Star Sterling, Stephanie (Joshua) Miller, Cody Richter, Joseph Minchew, Jered (Phyllis) Minchew, Kyle Minchew, Savannah Sykes and Shandon Sykes; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don (Eline) Burch of Canadian, Texas, Richard (Pat) Burch of Amarillo, Texas and Ray (Cheryl) Burch of Clarendon, Texas; two sisters, Melba (Bob) House of Amarillo, Texas and Beverly (Lonnie) Coker of Austin, Texas; many beloved nieces and nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro.

Kevin Jewell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and include Derek Jester, Devin Jester, Cody Richter, Joseph Minchew, Jered Minchew and Shandon Sykes. Guest registry is at www. davis-smith.com.
