Columbiana – Helen Lou Steitz, 92, formerly of Lakeview Drive, died at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Whispering Pines Village where she had recently made her home. Mrs. Steitz was born January 12, 1926 in Salem, a daughter of the late Clyde and Mabel Williams Dickey and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana.

She had been employed as head cashier at the Columbiana County Treasurer’s Office in Lisbon for several years. Her husband, Jacob “Jack” Steitz, whom she married August 20, 1949 died July 5, 2005. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Betty Percy of New Waterford and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

A sister, Verda Cook is also deceased. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Whispering Pines Village, Columbiana with Pastor Fritz Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery, Rogers.

Friends may call at Whispering Pines from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. Memorials may be directed to Community Hospice, 2341 East State Street Salem, Ohio 44460.
