Helen M. Schrader February 20, 1928 – January 17, 2019 MISHAWAKA – Helen M. Schrader, 90, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Hearth of Juday Creek, Mishawaka. Helen was born on February 20, 1928 in Bloomington, IN to the late Louis E. Marlin and Leona (Trueblood) Marlin and has lived in this area since 1936, coming from Bloomington. She is a graduate of South Bend Central High School and attended classes for two years at Valparaiso University.

Helen worked as a bookkeeper for the former Rose Fuel and Material, Inc. for 27 years, prior to her January 1, 2000 retirement. She was actively involved with the Women in Construction Organization, and was a member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, South Bend for over 50 years. On March 21, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, South Bend, she was united in marriage to Arthur J. Schrader, who preceded her in death on August 9, 1998.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Dikowski, who lovingly raised her since she was eight years old. Helen is survived by sons, Jeff (Linda) Schrader and Brian (Thelma) Schrader, both of Granger; grandchildren, Ryan Schrader, Holli-Kaye Schrader, and Josh Schrader; and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Helen will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave.

, South Bend, IN 46615, where friends may gather with the family two hours prior to services. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
