Helen Louise Sanchez Sunrise: January 24, 1931 Sunset: November 6, 2018 Helen L. Sanchez (Wesley) was the 4th child born to Leonard Wesley, Sr. and Delora (Pettie) Wesley. She was raised in Sandy Ridge and Coffeyville, Kansas. After college, Helen moved to Kansas City, Mo.

She worked for the Division of Employment Security and retired after 40 years of service. She was married to Melvin F. Roe and Thomas J. Embry. To these unions were two children: JoVonna L. (Roe) Thomas and Darren Darvale Embry.

She married her teenage sweetheart in 1983, Herman (Boze) Sanchez. She loved and cared for him until his death in 1997. Due to declining health, Mother Helen moved to the St. Louis area where she was cared for by her daughter, JoVonna, and family.

She leaves a legacy of love for God and family, kindness, sweetness, generosity, and selflessness. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, service 2 PM, on Saturday, November 17, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.

Burial will be at 10 AM at Leavenworth National Cemetery on Monday, November 19.
