TROUT RUN – Helga E. (Maretschek) Albert, 92, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was married in 1959 to the late Hale L. Albert and they celebrated 38 years as husband and wife until his death in 1998. Helga was born on November 11, 1925 in Berlin, Germany and was the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Schwabe) Maretschek.

She graduated high school and secretarial college in Germany. She had worked for 30 years at Sharwell of Williamsport. Helga attended the Trout Run United Methodist Church where she was very active.

She volunteered with the senior citizens at the Trout Run Fire Hall. Helga enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, walking her dog, feeding the fish in the pond and playing cards. Helga is survived by one son; Alan L. Linn of Hickory, NC, three nieces; Jean Hayes and Barbara Wascher, both of Trout Run and Sandra Fogelman of Cogan Station, two nephews; Richard Isgate of Trout Run and Mark Deitrick of Ralston, one special great-niece; Dana Naughton of Trout Run and ten other great-nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held by the family in Beech Valley Cemetery, Trout Run with Jean Hayes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA or the Trout Run Fire Dept. Arrangements are being handled by the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport.
