Henrietta “Hanky” Janice Weber was born to Dewey and Grace (Brunink) Vander Stoep in Lynden, WA, on October 25, 1932. She passed away at the age of 86 in Moses Lake, WA, on October 15, 2018. Hanky was raised in and around the Lynden area and graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 1951.

On November 24, 1995, Hanky was joined in marriage to LeRoy Weber. They began their life together in Royal City, WA, and moved to Moses Lake in 2000 where they resided for 18 years. Hanky was passionate about her faith and her family; she treasured her time of Bible Study and prayer.

She and LeRoy have been members of First Baptist Church of Moses Lake since 2004. They were active in the local church and traveled to work with missionaries in all parts of the world. They spent countless hours helping with building projects and caring for family and friends.

Hanky will be remembered fondly for wearing aprons, baking cookies, and crocheting edges on baby blankets, but she will be remembered most for her love of the Lord and the way she reflected that love to those around her. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Roosma (1975); her parents, Dewey and Grace Vander Stoep; and her siblings, Dewey Vander Stoep Jr., Evelyn Honcoop, Grace Van Diest, and Beulah Honcoop, Hanky is survived by her husband of 23 years, LeRoy Weber; her childen, Ray and Karla (Stremler) Roosma, Steven and Cammy (DeJong) Roosma, Leslie and Onita (Roosma) Top, Kermit and Patricia (Roosma) Stap, Drew and Brenda (Alsum) Roosma, Timothy and Brenda (Martin) Roosma, Ronald and Jody Weber, Keith and Debbie Weber, Robert Weber, Michael and LaDonna Weber, and 93 grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Hanky’s memory to support the ABWE ministry of Bill and Lori Smith in Papua New Guinea.

Donations can be sent to First Baptist Church of Moses Lake, Moses Lake, WA 98837. Please make checks payable to the First Baptist Church and write Bill and Lori Smith Ministry on the memo line. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Moses Lake, WA, 724 W. 4th Avenue.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Monumento Cemetery in Lynden, WA. This will be followed by a reception at 2nd CRC Educational Building. You are invited to share your memories and condolences in the on-line Guest Book at www.
