Obituary of Larry Barnes Larry D. Barnes Sr, age 79, passed away in Bellingham, WA on November 7, 2018. He was born on February 16, 1939 in Atlanta, GA to Daniel Duke and LaRue Barnes. Larry graduated from NC State with a degree in Ceramic Engineering.

Much of his working life was spent in the nuclear industry. Larry loved traveling the world. Some of his adventures included Europe, Thailand, Cambodia, New Zealand, and Peru, Most recently he traveled to London, England in September with his son Doug.

Larry also enjoyed spending time on the water boating and fishing. Larry was an intelligent man, a life long learner, always seeking new ideas and new adventures. He was a hard worker and a man of deep integrity.

A supportive and loving father, Larry was always there for each of his four children. We will miss him dearly. in 2002 Larry was preceded in death by his wife Nancy H. Barnes, and for many years he took every opportunity he could to lovingly tend her gravesite.

He is survived by his children: Shelly (Chis) Barnes-Schronce, Lawrence “Pat” Barnes Jr., Cindy (David) Little, and Doug Barnes, grandchildren: Jessica Barnes, Aiden Schronce, Morgan Barger, Mitchell Barnes, and Monica Barnes.
