Obituary of Henry Hodnett, Jr. Henry W. Hodnett, Jr., 75, of Jamestown, died Friday, July 20, 2018 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. He was born in Chatham, VA on March 29, 1943, the son of the late Nicy May Carter Hodnett Hancock and Henry Hodnett, Sr., and was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School. As a truck driver, Henry had been employed by Lyons Transportation in Falconer, Birkmire Trucking in Erie and UPS in Jamestown.

He belonged to Emmanuel Baptist Church and fully enjoyed his membership at the YMCA. Henry’s interests included bowling, riding motorcycles, travel and spending time with family. Surviving is a son, Scott Hodnett of Jamestown and daughter, Denise (Ronnie) Taylor of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren: Andra (and fiancé Chad tenPas) Hodnett of Rochester, NY, Nicy Hodnett of Mount Airy, NC, and Dominick Taylor and Cienna Taylor, both of Roanoke; a sister, Daisy Davis and nephew, Arrick (Michelle) Davis, both of Jamestown; as well as the mother of his children, Ella Hodnett of Jamestown.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Leroy Walker will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church Thursday.
