Herman I Lambrechts, 82 residing in South Bend, passed away at 9:47am Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1936 to the late Peter and Florence Lambrechts, in Ekeren, Belgium and came to the United States when he was 8 years old and was a lifelong resident of South Bend. On April 14, 1955 Herman married Mary Ann Alexandrowicz who survives.

He is also survived by his three children Linda (Scott) Decker of Bremen, IN, John (Debbie) Lambrechts of Boyton Beach, Fl and Mark (Vickie) Lambrechts of South Bend, In. Herman was blessed with five grandchildren Aaron (Sokum) Decker, Sarah (James) Lymburner, Aimee (Barry) Vine, Afton (Derek) Barrett and John Paul (Danielle) Lambrechts as well as eight great grandchildren Brady Decker, Carson Vine, Dawson Vine, Aiden Lambrechts, Lydia Barrett, Hudson Vine, Malia Barrett and Brynnleigh Lambrechts. Herman is also survived by his sister Mary Nordblad of Largo, Fl.

He is preceded in death by is grandson Evan Lambrechts. Herman enjoyed watching Notre Dame and the Cubs. He was also a wonderful cook and loved spending time outdoors gardening and at the lake house.

He loved being with his family. Memorial Services will be held pm Monday, February 4th at 11:30 AM, Mark Lambrechts will be officiating and Military Honors will follow the service at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614. Family will receive friends from 9:30-11:30 AM at the funeral home.
