Hobert “Bud” Middleton, Jr, 64 of Smith passed away Monday afternoon of October 8, 2018 in Bristol, TN. Visitation will be Thursday (Oct. 11) after 5:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Spencer Burkhart officiating. Burial will be Friday (Oct.

12) at 11:00 am at the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY. Pallbearers will be Jason Lloyd, Justin Renfro, Neil Engle, Johnny Engle, David Middleton, Ronnie Wilder, and H.B. Wilder. Bud was born August 11, 1954 at Harlan, KY to the late Hobert, Sr and Opal Elizabeth Cupp Middleton.

He was a retired coal miner and former operator of Middleton’s Grocery in Smith for many years. He attended Faith Holiness Church in Smith, loved Politics, Knife Trading, and being with his McDonalds Crew. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Middleton; sisters, Frankie Johnson, Imojean Wilder; brother-in-law, Mark Spurlock and Stevie Combs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cathy Middleton; son, Jamie Middleton; sisters, Sharon Wilder, Dianne Spurlock, Susan Engle; special nephews, Darrell Saylor, and David Middleton; special nieces, April Childers, and Hannah Housley; special friend, Morris “Bainy” Clem; he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
