OBITUARY HOWARD RITCHIE July 27, 1927 – September 18, 2018 Howard Ritchie, age 91, of Eight Mile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018. He was married to his love for 70 years Mary “Betty” Saunders Ritchie. He retired after 35 years with Courtauld’s as Facility Manager.

A true Yellow Dog Democrat all his life who loved to talk politics. A longtime member of Semmes First Baptist Church. A Charter Member of Courtauld’s Credit Union where he served as Treasurer.

He enjoyed working in his shop making or repairing things, if he wasn’t doing that he may be at Bake’s Lake fishing. And you shouldn’t be surprised if you saw them at Cracker Barrel. Preceded in death by parents B.B. and Mary Evans Ritchie, daughter Lenora Jean Pate, brothers; Thadeus C. Ritchie and Edwin Ritchie, sisters; Naomi Edmund and Katherine Hodges.

Survivors include loving wife Mary Saunders Ritchie, sons Bennett (Angela) F. Ritchie and Garland (Kimber) E. Ritchie. Brothers Charles A. Ritchie, Sr. and Hal P. Ritchie. Six loving grandchildren, four great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and relatives.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow in Wilmer Cemetery, Wilmer, AL.
