Funeral services for Hunter D. Hetzler, 22, of Pierce, will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at First Christian Church in Norfolk. Reverend Tim DeFor will officiate. An inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 4:30 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening also at First Christian Church. Home for Funerals of Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. Hunter died on May 12, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born on September 18, 1995, in Norfolk, the son of Curtis and Nan (Kremlacek) Hetzler. He was baptized as an infant at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton. Later as an adult, Hunter was baptized at First Christian Church.

Hunter graduated from Stanton High School in 2013. At the time of his accident, Hunter was employed at Bauer Underground. He recently was accepted in the Nebraska National Guard on a delayed entry program.

Hunter enjoyed hunting, spending time with his dog, Duke, target shooting, fishing, 4 wheeling, working on his truck and Husker football. He had a passion for being outdoors. He loved his family and especially the family outings at Long Pine.

Hunter also liked attending concerts. Hunter is survived by his parents; his siblings: James (Darby) Hetzler, of Pierce, sister, Jade Hetzler and her significant other, Dean Henery, of Norfolk, sister, Amy Hetzler, of Omaha; 2 nieces and 1 nephew, Noel Lindsey, Brielle Hetzler and Ryker Hetzler; grandparents: Ernie and Gladyce Kremlacek, of Stanton and Robert Hetzler, of Manhattan, KS; numerus aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Esther Hetzler, uncles: Steve Hetzler and Chuck Stanton, cousins: T.J. Kremlacek and Easton Kremlacek.
