Obituary for IGNACIO GONZALES A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Ignacio Gonzales age 89 of Lamesa, Texas at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating and assisted by Deacon Daniel Valenzuela. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.

Viewing will be held on Thursday and Friday with Rosary Prayer services at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Ignacio passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Lamesa. He was born on July 31, 1928 in New Braunfels, Texas.

Ignacion married Maria Landin on November 8, 1948 in Lamesa, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Landin Gonzales; his son, Jesus Gonzales; infant daughters, Olivia and Angelita ; his parents, Juan and Juanita Gonzales. Ignacio was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and a retired restaurant cook.

Family survivors includes, his sons, David A. Gonzales (Dora) , Johnnie Gonzales (Cecilia); his daughters, Susan Hernandez of Eden, Texas, Esperanza Casarez of Houston, Texas, Biatriz (Mario) Gonzales of Lamesa, Texas, Carla Vasquez (Faustino) of Lamesa, Texas; his brothers, Mike Gonzales and Pablo Gonzales of Austin, Texas; his sisters, Florinda Perez, Sylvia Ochoa, Matilde Ybarra, Roberta Guemma, all of Austin, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.
