Ila Nathalie Gerber February 18, 1924 – January 30, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Ila Nathalie Page Gerber, age 94 of Enid, passed away in her home at Golden Oaks Village on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. The celebration of her life will be 2:00pm, Monday, February 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Enid. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry with US Navy honors.

Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8:00pm, Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the funeral home. Ila was born February 18, 1924, in Goltry, Oklahoma, to Luther William Page and Amy (Ackley) Page.

She and Lynn Eldon (Jerry) Gerber were married October 5, 1942, in Cherokee, Oklahoma. They were married for 70 years before Jerry passed away in 2012. Ila graduated from Driftwood High School in 1942.

During World War II, she served as Seaman First-Class, V-10, USNR. After the war, Jerry and Ila lived in Cherokee; Guymon; Borger, Texas; Hobbs, New Mexico; Midland, Texas; Lindsay, Seiling, and Alva, Oklahoma before retiring at Golden Oaks in Enid. As her family grew, she felt the need to supplement the family income and became a licensed cosmetologist.

Ila and her family were active in church everywhere they lived. She loved serving the Lord, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, and cooking at church camp. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers and one sister: Ollie Everett Page, Othie Albert Page, Orville Oren Page (Dutch), Ellis Ford Page, Cecil Allen Page, Clayton Lavon Page (John), and Lilly Francelia Page Galloway (Sis).

Survivors include three sons: Larry Lynn and Barbara Gerber of Los Angeles, CA; John Phillip and Midge Gerber of Norman, Oklahoma; and Timothy Jay and Kay Gerber of Stillwater; five grandchildren: Casey and Christa Gerber of Norman; Courtney and Jeremy Johnson of Oklahoma City; Lisa Gerber of North Hollywood, California; Jody and Robert Sanders of Carney; and Ellen Gerber of Stillwater; five great-grandchildren: Owen Bryce Gerber, Stella Kate Gerber, Logann Alivia Johnson, Merritt Claire Johnson, and Dakota Grace Wilson; two brothers: Olen Leroy Page (Skeet), Francis Eldon Page (Pod); one sister Phyllis Darlene Otis, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorials can be given through the funeral home to Parkinson’s Foundation of Oklahoma.
