Obituary for Irene Carney Irene Carney of Whiting NJ passed away on Sunday June 17 at the Hearth Stone Estates Assisted Living Center in Lakewood after a long and valiant fight. Born and raised in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn Irene and her late sister Mary settled in Whiting after their retirement from ADT. Irene was the Executive Secretary to the President of ADT .

Irene was a devout parishioner at St. John’s Church. She was a woman who you could easly confide in, what ever you told her stayed with her. She was often called upon by her nieces and nephews for advise, her sage wisdom or just to say hello.

Her sisters Mary Carney and Helen Moran pre deceased her. She is survived by her nephews William ( Bill) and Joseph Moran, and her numerous loving great nieces and nephews as well as her grand nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Michael Hegarty and John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals,Inc.

3377 US Highway 9 North, Old Bridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at St. John’s Church, Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery where Irene will be laid to rest with her sister Mary.
