Irene Fletcher, 91, a resident of Raymond, MS passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held 4 pm Monday, June 25, 2018 at McDonald Cemetery in Good Hope Community. Mrs. Fletcher was born on February 22, 1927 to XO Porter and Ruthie Trest Porter.

She was a native of Leake County. She was married to Willie E. Fletcher. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church and a member of the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.

She worked many years before retiring at Mississippi Valley Gas Credit Union. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and was known for her well-groomed yard receiving “Yard of The Month” recognition on several occasions. She loved her church and church family and was very active in her church before becoming ill.

Mrs. Fletcher loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willie E. Fletcher; parents, XO Porter and Ruthie Trest Porter; brothers, Rev.

Paul Porter, XO Porter, Jr. and LA Porter. Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her children, Steven Edward (Gayle) Fletcher and Linda Bane; three grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
