David Hosie passed away Saturday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Ellen McAndrew; and daughter, Sarah. Born in Dover, N.J., son of the late Leonard and Ann Hosie.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. David was a 1973 graduate of St. Rose High School. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

David recently retired from Lockheed Martin after 40 years of service. David was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be deeply missed. He enjoyed spending time on his boat at Lake Wallenpaupack with his best friends Bob Jones, caring for his home and Corvette, family cookouts and spending time with his dogs.

Mary Ellen and Sarah wish to extend our heartfelt thank you to Dr. Richard Weinberger who was not only his doctor and brother in law but also his close friend. He is also survived by five sisters and three brothers, Linda and Ron Jackson, Archbald; Jane and Kevin Harrison, Archbald; Erin and Dr. Richard Weinberger, Waverly Twp. ; Alice and Michael Surace, Montdale; Amy Sirianni, Archbald; Marty Hosie, Archbald; Stephen and Lois Hosie, Jessup; and Eric and Lynne Hosie, Jessup; two sisters-in-law, Maureen and Bob Santarelli, Archbald; and Karen and Steve Durso, Jessup; and his uncle, George Diehl, Long Island, N.Y.; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel; and niece, Marla Ann Hosie. The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Archbald, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Church Street, Archbald. Interment, St. Thomas Cemetery, Archbald.

Friends may call Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. Friends attending Mass are asked to go directly to church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
