J. Thomas Pickel, 89, of Bethlehem Township, formerly of Palmer Township, PA, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 in Country Meadows, Bethlehem Township. Born December 6, 1929, in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late John W. and Catherine (Van Nortwick) Pickel. He retired as a district manager from Prudential Life Insurance Company where he worked for 43 years in the Easton and Quakertown offices.

Tom graduated from Wilson High School Class of 1947 and received a B.A. degree from Lafayette College in 1952. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. Tom enjoyed fishing, stamp and coin collecting and watching football.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Easton. He was a member and past treasurer of Concordia Maennerchor where he was a member of the quoit team and pool league.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas M. Pickel and his wife Stephanie, of Williams Township, J. Gregory Pickel and his wife Joanne, of Moore Township and Michael D. Mack, of Wilson Borough; a daughter, Deborah A. Falcone and her husband Nicholas, of Palmer Township; a sister, Nancy Dicker, of Palmer Township; six grandchildren, Lindsay Falcone and her companion Tom Prior, Brian Falcone and his wife Madeline, Dr. Jason Pickel, Brendon Pickel and his wife Allison, Katie Pickel and Bria Pickel; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Paige and Sophie and one great-granddaughter on the way. He was predeceased by two sisters, Bette Relly and Irene Seibel. Services will be held at 11am Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough.
