Obituary for Jack Dale Herron Jack Dale Herron, 81, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Monday, September 10, 2018 at his home. He was born August 23, 1937 in Wasson, Illinois to Alba and Evangelan Bergadine Herron. He was the last of 12 children.

Jack attended grade school in a one room school house in Wasson, Illinois. He then attended and graduated from Eldorado high school in Eldorado, Illinois. He married Janet Draper after high school and celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2017.

They have one son, Mark (Tracie) Herron and one daughter, Kimberlee Howard. He has been blessed with five grandchildren, Britnee (Cortney) Howard, Mason, Mathew, Mary Kate, and Megan Tinkham and two great grandchildren, Kali Lemon and Kamron Coleman. He is also survived by one sister, Virginia Feazle and two brothers, Roy Herron and Arthur Herron.

Jack worked most of his life starting out as a paper boy and working during high school at Glascock Gas Station. Leaving Illinois for CR work for his brothers Roy and Tom delivering brake supplies. Jack and Janet owned and operated Nuway Cleaners in Carmi, Illinois for seven years.

Jack worked for Kraft Food for 14 years and moved to Cape Girardeau in 1979, taking a job with Roundy’s Foods, where he retired after 20 years. Jack and Janet then traveled in a RV for 10 years to Florida, Texas and Arizona, where they made many good friends. His hobbies include running, biking, golf, and hiking Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt.

Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Jack requested that donations be given to St. Francis Hospice, 211 Saint Francis Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. The family would like to give a special thanks to hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Jack during his illness. He had a special place in his heart for his nurse, Sonya who always made him comfortable during his illness.
